KCD PR President Kevin Dinino is regarded as a leader in financial public relations and strategic communications. He works closely with his team to ensure all clients receive sound counsel, effective solutions, and impactful results.
Before launching KCD PR in 2009, Kevin served as Vice President of Public Relations for LPL Financial, the nation’s largest independent brokerage firm, where he managed the public relations department and provided strategic communications direction to the executive team. He is an industry and Wall Street veteran and a sought-after source for public relations and marketing insights relating to finance, high tech, cybersecurity, and other related topics. Through his years in public relations, Kevin has developed influential relationships and secured coverage in major media outlets, including The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, USA Today, BusinessWeek, and CNBC.
Kevin is a graduate of the State University of New York College at Buffalo, where he earned a B.A. in Public Communication, and is a member of the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC). He resides in beautiful San Diego with his wife.
Philippa Ushio is a Managing Director at KCD PR. She leads teams in developing communications strategies and mounting multi-disciplinary campaigns to protect and enhance business value.
Throughout her career, Philippa has provided strategic counsel to clients facing a wide variety of complex issues, focusing particularly on their communications challenges. She has led a myriad of innovative programs around the world that have advanced the business objectives of clients in many different industries, including financial services, fintech, hardware, and software. Previous client experience includes working with respected brands such as Trulia, HSBC, Credit Suisse, Slack, The Government of Dubai, Jones Lang La Salle, William Blair, Schroders, and Investcorp.
Before joining KCD PR, Philippa was the founder of Wall & Broadway, a consultancy that specialized in providing strategic communications solutions to technology startups. She began her career in the Middle East with FTI Consulting where she led communications strategy on the restructuring of the Emirate’s government healthcare funding program while also consulting for Lloyds TSB and the Emirates Group.
Philippa holds a first-class degree from St. Andrews University in Scotland and postgraduate masters in public and media relations from the School of Journalism in Cardiff, Wales. Philippa is actively involved in the San Diego technology startup community, she volunteers for Tech Coast Angels, and lives in San Diego with her husband and son.
Mary Stovall is a Marketing Director at KCD PR. She leads teams in creating data driven integrative marketing strategies and implements campaigns that build trust, authority and integrity to achieve desired outcomes.
Mary’s professional background ranges from finance, tax and human resources at multi-national firms to directing teams at high-tech and entrepreneurial start-ups. Her consulting experience includes Intuit, Ernst & Young and Deloitte. Mary’s entrepreneurial spirit was ignited during her time at a mobile cloud computing high-tech startup and continued with the launch of a global coworking space.
Before joining KCD PR, Mary combined her professional experiences with her passion for learning digital marketing technologies to consult with small and medium businesses to improve their search visibility and increase revenues.
Mary is an official Google Small Business Advisor and is certified in Google AdWords, Analytics and Digital Marketing. She holds a Master’s Degree in Accounting from San Diego State University and is actively involved in the San Diego business community. She volunteers with various organizations and enjoys being a Google Local Guide in San Diego.
Tony Vignieri is VP, Director of Media Relations at KCD PR. He is responsible for handling media strategy and public relations activities for clients in the finance, high tech, and transportation spaces.
Prior to joining our team, Tony held the role of Vice President of Media and Public Relations at LPL Financial. His background includes serving as Chief of Corporate Communications at Vistage International, and he started his career as a broadcast journalist for ABC and CBS News affiliates in New York, Minneapolis, and Houston. He has received three Telly Video Awards, four Associated Press awards, two Page One awards, and a national public relations award.
A father of four and an avid tennis player, Tony resides in Carlsbad, CA with his wife Elizabeth.
Janette is a key member of KCD PR’s specialized M&A deal and strategy team. She helps KCD PR’s clients expand into new markets and launch new businesses. She has an extensive background in M&A deal communications, post M&A strategy and implementation, and leading go-to-market plans for financial services companies.
Prior to joining KCD PR, she developed and executed marketing strategies in the broker-dealer and RIA spaces, and has led post-M&A integration of marketing and communications efforts in the financial industry. Janette’s launch experience includes advisory, asset allocation, and practice management programs. While living in Australia, Janette was the investor relations manager for GPT, a publicly listed REIT.
Janette is a charterholder of the International Mergers & Acquisitions Professional designation with the Institute for Mergers, Acquisitions and Alliances. She earned her MBA in Entrepreneurship from Concordia University in Irvine, California. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business, major in Marketing, from Charles Sturt University in Australia. She lives in California and Arizona with her husband and their children.
Amanda Powers is a KCD PR Account Executive responsible for tracking industry trends, researching media opportunities, pitching client news, developing social media marketing strategies, and creating content for marketing materials. She is passionate about the public relations industry and enthusiastic about supporting all of her clients’ business objectives.
Prior to joining the team, Amanda was a marketing coordinator at Great Ecology, an environmental consulting firm in La Jolla, California and managed external communications strategy for the development team at Invisible Children, an international non-profit. Amanda moved to San Diego in 2012 from Boston where she was an Account Coordinator at the Dobbin Group, where she was charged with securing placements for clients in well-known equine publications.
Amanda graduated from Union College in 2011 with a Bachelor’s degree in History with a concentration on Africana Studies. She is a seasoned equestrian and spends most of her time at the barn, traveling, and with friends and family.
Genevieve Crain is seasoned communications leader who specializes in developing strategic messaging frameworks and content marketing programs for B2C and B2B clients. She supports global and emerging businesses with fresh campaign concepts and informative, actionable copy that lives across a variety of platforms, while helping them establish an authentic and consistent verbal style that resonates with their audiences.
Genevieve also oversees complex website executions, acting as a hybrid project manager/creative director/writer, providing oversight of everything from look and feel concepts to SEO/UX to creative execution. She has worked with leading brands including Staples, Belkin, Brain Corp, LPL Financial, Avery Dennison, Zappos, Hasbro, and many more.
Jen is a Research Coordinator for KCD PR. She is responsible for researching media contacts, monitoring the news to keep the team informed about relevant stories and trends, competitor and industry analysis, building and updating critical databases, account support, and supporting business development activities. She also assists with KCD PR’s internal marketing objectives and public relations.
Before joining KCD PR, Jen spent over 10 years in the media and publishing world, including several years in New York. She served as an art director at retail, business, and food magazines, which sparked an interest in photography. Jen founded and ran a photography art business for 5 years, and the marketing work for her own business inspired her career transition and continuing education.
Jen is a current MBA Marketing student at Montclair State University. She previously earned a certificate in photography from the University of California at San Diego, and holds a bachelor’s degree in Art and certificate in Journalism from Indiana University. She spends her time outside the office and classroom exploring sunny San Diego with her rescue dog.
Kelly is an Account Executive for KCD PR. She is responsible for strategizing public relations and marketing goals and objectives, utilizing social media to promote client events and thought leadership, conducting media relations, and assisting on new business activities. She also assists with KCD PR’s internal public relations and marketing objectives.
Kelly previously served as the Digital Content Manager at The Daily Aztec, SDSU’s independent, student-run newspaper, and oversaw all PR, social media, and online content. Kelly has been with KCD PR for more than two years and has worked her way up from intern.
Kelly is a graduate of San Diego State University where she earned her bachelor’s degree in Journalism with an emphasis in Public Relations, and a minor in Finance. She is a seasoned equestrian and spends most of her time adventuring with friends, at the beach, exploring new restaurants, and traveling.
Joe is a strategic communications executive with more than two decades of experience advising corporations and C-suite executives on their PR and marketing strategies. Based in New York, Joe provides counsel to KCD PR clients on corporate communications and executive visibility campaigns to drive brand awareness and support business goals. He has expertise in financial communications for IPOs, M&A and corporate restructuring.
Joe has led hundreds of media training and coaching sessions for senior level executives, and has supported clients across a range of industries, including Broadridge Financial Solutions, Iconic Group, Intelsat, JP Morgan Chase, NYSE, New York Times, PwC, and ViaSat, among others.
Prior to founding LoBello Communications, Joe was a Managing Director at Brainerd Communicators leading more than a dozen client relationships over his 15-year tenure at the firm. Before joining Brainerd, Joe worked for Stanton Crenshaw Communications, Thompson Financial and New York State Senator Norman J. Levy.
Joe graduated from the State University of New York at New Paltz with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, and received his Master of Arts in Government and Politics from St. John’s University.
