(Note from KCD PR: In our “Giving Back to Fintech” series, we asked two associations to contribute to blogs highlighting their work in the fintech community. We chose to spotlight the FinTech Professionals Association for its dedication to collaboration among all professionals working under the umbrella of fintech).

By: Joy Schoffler, FinTech Professionals Association

The FinTech Professionals Association (FTPA) is a nonprofit organization on a mission to bring the traditional financial services world together with new and emerging financial technology companies to expand opportunities, share ideas, network and shape the future of the industry. Our goal is to create a vibrant online community that aggregates fintech-centric events, news and resources from around the globe while creating a vast network of established and emerging professionals.

Many niche associations focused on industries such as payments or banking have been in existence for years. However, up until 2016 when FTPA launched, there was not an association working to bring together professionals across the broader financial technology (fintech) space. FTPA invites all fintech professionals to join the association, from traditional bankers to fintech startup developers to the consultants who work with these companies each day.

We believe innovation relies on collaboration and access to the right tools. FTPA plays an integral part in connecting the key players who will shape the future of finance.

Whether your business specializes in compliance and security, investment and trading, settlement and clearing, cybersecurity, internet finance, back office services, B2B, B2C, GRC … it’s all welcome. We are fully-inclusive and looking to share new opportunities and events, network with other trade and professional associations and help our members connect with new technologies and resources that will take their business to the next level.
